Last night A Skylit Drive was robbed by a couple of teen girls.
This sucks. A lot. Especially when you realize that most musicians live at or below the poverty line just so they can make and share the music in their souls.
Liking a band then taking their money is ridiculous.
On top of all that, idiots have been coming out of the woodwork on a certain music news site to comment that ASD "deserved" to be robbed since "Adelphia" sucked so much.
There are two things wrong with this picture:
1. Adelphia is pure musical genius, and nearly any person with a shred of actual music knowledge will tell you so. Even those who don't love Jag's voice will still acknowledge that he does sing well.
2. Even if you don't like the music a band makes, does that make it acceptable to laugh when their money is taken? NO.
I don't care what type of guys make up ASD. My personal experience is that they are nice guys. One or two of them might be rough around the edges, but who isn't? Regardless of their personalities, flaws, past mistakes, whatever, I can guarantee they wouldn't wish the loss of money or property on anyone. In this situation they are definitely the people I admire most out of everyone involved. They must be incredibly upset, but they're still showing more than an ounce of dignity. Heck, Jag took time to thank everyone who's standing by them.
The moral of the story? I guess, to keep it simple, it's "don't be a jerk." Unfortunately that seems to be incredibly hard for some people.
